Offloading & Total Contact Casting
Reduces the pressure on the wound and increases the probability and speed of healing. Interventions to prevent weight-bearing include boots, crutches or wheelchairs.
Wound Debridement
Is the process of removing dead tissue from wounds. It is necessary for healing because dead tissue hinders the growth of new cells and makes it easier for infection to occur
Skin Substitutes & Tissue Therapies
Help new skin cells develop by delivering living tissue directly to the wound. This activates the body’s inherent ability to repair and regenerate through new cell growth.
Nutrition & Rehab Assessment
Empowering patients and caregivers with knowledge and resources for optimal wound care at home. We believe that education is key to successful wound management. That's why we provide comprehensive education and support to help you understand your condition, learn proper wound care techniques, and make informed decisions about your health. The impact of nutrition on the aesthetic outcomes of wound healing is substantial, an appropriate supply of nutrients is crucial for reducing scar formation and supporting the intricate process of skin remodeling.
Antimicrobial Therapy
Treatment of wounds infected with bacteria Antimicrobial wound therapy refers to the treatment of wounds infected with bacteria. It involves the use of antibiotics to combat bacterial growth within the wound, reduce bacterial load, and promote healing. Antimicrobial dressings are also used to tailor treatment options. Examples include silver- impregnated dressings, honey dressings, and iodine dressings.
Wound Dressing Management
Wound dressing management involves the process of selecting, applying, and changing dressings to promote healing, protect the wound, and prevent infection. It encompasses various techniques and considerations, including wound assessment, cleaning, and selecting the appropriate dressing type
Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT)
Involves placing a vacuum over a dressed wound, which draws fluid from the body through the wound and stimulates blood flow to the wound.
Edema Management
Persistent tissue swelling within and around a healing wound is detrimental to a smooth repair process. Edema can cause significant pain at the wound site, discouraging limb mobility that improves circulation to the site. Edema fluid can also serve as a medium for the proliferation of bacteria and other microorganisms leading to wound infection, and tissue breakdown. Further, the seepage of excess fluid into the spaces between cells can increase the pressure on small blood vessels in that area destroying them and causing local tissue necrosis. Examples of what we use to manage Edema: Exercise and ambulation, compression wear, elevation of edematous area, and most importantly control of chronic medical conditions causing the edema.
