Mike Parkes has been singing for as long as he can remember. Though he began his musical journey as a bass player in several original bands through high school and into his 20s, his true passion for singing eventually took center stage. He stepped into the spotlight as a lead vocalist and never looked back — even studying with one of the same vocal coaches Jon Bon Jovi worked with in the 1980s.
With a strong vocal style and a striking resemblance to a young Jon Bon Jovi, friends, family, and fellow musicians encouraged Mike to start a Bon Jovi tribute band. In 2001, SLIPPERY WHEN WET NJ was born.
Performing alongside his band of brothers — one of whom is actually his brother — Mike brings the spirit of classic 1980’s Bon Jovi to life. Focusing on the first four albums, he delivers each challenging track with power, precision, and undeniable charisma. His performances are more than a show — they’re a heartfelt tribute to Jon Bon Jovi and the band that defined a generation.
